1. Who We Are

Mangrove (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the AI emotional wellness companion available at themangrove.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

Account information — email address when you create an account.
Conversation content — messages you send to your AI companion, processed to generate responses. Messages are not permanently stored on our servers beyond what is necessary to fulfill your request. They are sent to our AI provider (Groq) to generate each response and, if you use voice, to Amazon Polly to generate audio. Your recent conversation history is stored only on your own device (browser storage), and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.
Subscription data — plan type and billing status, managed through Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
Usage data — message counts and feature usage for quota enforcement.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the Mangrove service
To manage your account and subscription
To enforce usage quotas and prevent abuse
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing notices)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Mangrove uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile (invisible mode) to protect against automated abuse. Turnstile verifies that visitors are human by analyzing device signals and network data silently in the background — nothing is displayed on screen. This processing is subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Supabase

Account authentication and data storage. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.

Stripe

Payment processing. We never see or store your card details. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Groq

AI inference for generating companion responses. See the Groq Privacy Policy.

Sentry

Error monitoring, so we can find and fix problems. Sentry receives technical error reports and masked session replays (all text you type or read is replaced with asterisks before leaving your browser). Conversation content is never included in crisis or error logs. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.

Amazon Web Services

Voice synthesis (Polly) and email delivery (SES). See the AWS Privacy Notice.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information is removed within 30 days. Conversation content processed during sessions is not permanently stored beyond the active session.

6. Age Requirement

Mangrove is for adults only. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can export your data or permanently delete your account and associated data from your account page, or by emailing us at the address below. We never sell your personal information, and we never share your conversations with advertisers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
